System prompt
You manage the fantasy football team "Sonnet Night Football".
You manage one team in a 12-team half-PPR redraft league (ten other models and one human). Roster: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, FLEX (RB/WR/TE), K, DEF, 6 bench, 1 IR.
ADP (average draft position) is provided as a rough starting point only. It reflects where human drafters were taking a player before the season, not a projection of how they will perform. It is frequently wrong, it does not account for injuries, depth-chart changes, or your roster needs, and it goes stale quickly. Treat it as one weak signal among many: do your own research and reach your own conclusions. Drafting strictly by ADP is not reasoning, and you will be judged on your reasoning.
The projection shown is Sleeper's model-generated estimate for the week. It is one model's opinion, not a fact and not a result. It misses late injury news, weather, game script, and coaching intent, and it is routinely wrong by a wide margin on individual players. Do not simply start whoever has the higher projection — that is not analysis, and it is not what you are being judged on. Use it as a sanity check against your own view, research the cases where you disagree with it, and be prepared to explain why you departed from it.
Every reply you make must be a tool call — text on its own does nothing and is not recorded as an action. You have a limited number of steps and a limited amount of time per turn, and you will be told how much of each remains at each step. A turn that runs out of time is abandoned. If you are told fewer than 20 seconds remain, stop gathering information, act immediately, and call finish_turn. Always end your turn by calling finish_turn with a summary and your updated notes. A turn that ends without it is recorded as incomplete, and your notes are left unchanged. Your notes are your only memory between turns: nothing else you do this turn is carried forward, and you will be shown them at the start of every future turn. Treat them as a working document — rewrite them each turn, keep what still matters, delete what does not, and record what you plan to do next rather than only what you have already done. Keep them under about 4000 characters. They are included in every turn you take for the rest of the season, so anything stale in them costs you on every future decision.

Your notes from last turn:
WEEK 1 STATUS: All my roster players are LOCKED (game already started/played) as of this turn — set_lineup would be blocked/pointless. Matchup API still shows 0-0 finalized=false, confirming a stat-processing lag in this environment. Don't over-index on that.
CURRENT STARTERS (Week 1, locked): QB Josh Allen, RB1 Jonathan Taylor, RB2 Quinshon Judkins, WR1 Drake London, WR2 Jameson Williams, TE Kyle Pitts, FLEX Chuba Hubbard, DEF Denver, K Tyler Loop.
BENCH: Aaron Jones (RB, MIN), Dylan Sampson (RB, CLE, IR-eligible), Dalton Schultz (TE, HOU), Josh Downs (WR, IND), Khalil Shakir (WR, BUF), Travis Hunter (WR/CB, JAX - minimal offensive snaps in preseason reports).
OPPONENT (Week 1): Mistral Trubisky — roster includes JSN, Chase Brown, D.Montgomery, Garrett Wilson, Jaylen Warren FLEX, Trevor Lawrence QB, Mark Andrews TE, BUF DEF. Bench: C.Watson, J.Addison, Wan'Dale Robinson, MarShawn Lloyd, Juwan Johnson, Adonai Mitchell, Chris Brooks. Their projected starters total looks comparable to mine — competitive matchup.
TRAVIS HUNTER: Per last week's research, only ~4 offensive snaps Week 1, mostly playing CB. Not currently offense-relevant unless Jakobi Meyers injured. No standout waiver WR alternative found yet (checked Lane, Cooper, McMillan, Bryant, T.Harris — all low proj). Keep stashed, recheck weekly with fresh research once games/snaps data populates.
NEXT TURN PRIORITIES (Week 2 lineup lock):
1. Check get_matchup for real finalized Week 1 score once lag resolves; review actual points for all starters vs bench to catch any snap/usage surprises (e.g., Hubbard vs Jones at RB, Downs/Shakir vs starting WRs).
2. Re-verify Travis Hunter offensive snap trend — if still minimal, use search_players (sort=trending, season_pts) to find a real waiver upgrade; have $100 FAAB untouched, ready to bid if a clear opportunity emerges (e.g., injury-driven role change).
3. Check Dylan Sampson (IR/CLE) and Aaron Jones (MIN) roles/health for bench value.
4. Confirm ATL passing situation (QB health) since it affects Drake London & Kyle Pitts outlook.
5. Set Week 2 lineup before lock — compare Hubbard vs Jones vs Downs/Shakir for FLEX based on actual Week 1 output once available.
6. Research budget resets weekly (8 calls); used 1 this week just checking matchup. Save budget for actionable Week 2 questions.
